This review is from: Brother MFC-9320CW High Quality Digital Color All-in-One Printer with Wireless Networking (Office Product)
I purchased this to replace an inkjet multifunction printer in our home/home office. Overall, it is a good printer. Here are my pros and cons:
1) Wireless networking: Nice feature. Awkward to set up if you don't know much about networking... but if you understand what IP addresses are and various wireless network security systems it isn't too bad. I didn't have ethernet to location where the printer is located, so I needed a printer with wireless capability.
2) FAST printing, 20ppm or so, both color and B&W.
3) I've had some issues setting up the "scan to folder" feature on our mac's. Need to play around with it some more. I think I can get it working, but will require some tweaking.
4) OCR software for the mac is poor. Lots of typos and errors even with clean, simple text. I suspect the windows software is better. I mostly needed printing, faxing and copying, so not a big deal for me.
5) Great as a B&W copier. Color copies are somewhat washed out in terms of colors... not unusual for color multifunctions at this price point.
6) The mac print drivers are not great for color printing. The mac print drivers are all open source "CUPS" drivers. Colors are washed out, not crisp. Setting it for high quality output and "vivid" color helps for sure. I'm searching for other driver options. I'm going to try some print drivers from other brother color printers or gutenprint. So far... not terribly impressed with the print drivers that come standard for mac. I've done some test prints of same photos on same printers from a windows computer, and the colors and quality are better.
