I was looking for something I could wear to work (a casual office environment) and which would stand up to my mile walk each way to the train station, even in bad weather. I was a bit concerned the first few times I wore these, as they felt somewhat stiff and uncomfortable; but after about 2 weeks of wearing them 3-4 days per week, they had broken in to the point where I found them to be quite comfortable. Best of all, I've had to trek through a couple bad rainstorms and splash through a few deep puddles in them, and my feet remained dry with no sign of any damage to the shoes. The only thing to watch out for is because of their hiking-style soles, they can feel a bit insecure if walking on a tile floor or other smooth surface when it's wet.
