This review is from: NEW BALANCE WT10GG MINIMUS WOMENS RUNNING SHOE (Apparel)
The NB Minimus WT10GG is marketed as a trail running "minimal" shoe. It's very light with no "fluff" - i.e. little cushioning, exposed seams, etc. I refer to this model as Minimus Trail 1.0 - it has some issues, but it's paving the way to some improvement with future versions of this shoe.

Tips and Notes
Before running in these shoes barefoot, I would advise walking in them wearing thin socks to wear out the roughness of the exposed stitching inside the shoe.
While running without socks, I got a friction rash caused by the exposed seams at the back of the shoes and some blisters on my toes also from exposed stitching. Since I never had blisters on my toes, this was unusual for me.
While running with socks, I found the fit of the shoes to be better: the response when running on obstacles was next to wearing Vibram Five Fingers. I still experience some heat and friction in the toe area which could be caused by the exposed stitching at the toes or the material used for the insole. I'm planning on trying these shoes with Injinji toe socks to see if it helps with the friction.
The shoe laces are much too long.
I would prefer a Vibram sole in one piece instead of the "dot" pattern.
The sole is not aggressive enough and does not offer enough protection for rocky trails. I can see this model splitting in to two: one model with a multi-surface sole (road+trail) and one with an aggressive trail running sole.

Best Use
Walking, road running and light trail running (smooth trails). I haven't tried them yet in very hot weather.

Not For
Long distance running*, cold weather running (unless worn with light wool socks) and rocky trails.
* Tolerance to the lack of cushioning improves with time. Everyone's tolerance will very. I doubt this will become the shoe of choice for ultra-marathons.

~~ Be patient while transitioning to barefoot running: too much too fast increases the risk of injuries. ~~
